FIT Policy Proposal: Contribution Income & Flexible Earning Ecosystem
Vision Statement
In a society shaped by AI, automation, and deep human potential, traditional full-time employment will no longer define value.
FIT proposes a modern income and participation model that supports all forms of meaningful contribution—care, creativity, strength, teaching, and presence.
Whether you're 25 or 85, your work and worth must remain visible and supported.
Core Principles
- Contribution is broader than employment: Community work, health maintenance, learning, and creative service are all valuable.
- Stable income is a human right: Freedom requires security—people must be free to rest, experiment, and help others.
- Flexibility over rigidity: Participation should match a person's life rhythm and abilities, not trap them in fixed schedules.
Policy Components
- Universal Contribution Income (UCI): A basic income for all adults, replacing fragmented welfare systems with a dignified floor of support. Funded through AI-driven productivity gains and equitable tax reform.
- Earning Pathways Platform: A government-backed digital marketplace for micro-work, local contribution, caregiving, peer mentoring, tutoring, and low-hour remote tasks—human-AI hybrid systems to match people to opportunity.
- Wellness Credits: Financial recognition for maintaining mobility, volunteering, or supporting others’ wellbeing. These credits reduce tax or increase UCI bonuses.
- Lifelong Learning Allowance: Annual funding for any adult to retrain, explore, or expand skills—applies to courses, certifications, artistic residencies, or AI-human collaboration platforms.
- Post-Retirement Flex Security: No loss of pension or healthcare benefits for continuing to earn or contribute past retirement age. Freedom to keep giving without penalty.
- Community Work Recognition: Grants for unpaid but vital community work—gardening, storytelling, strength-coaching, mediation, tech help for elders, and more.
New Work from Emerging Policy Frontiers
FIT’s policies create a new landscape of traditional and flexible jobs—designed to improve life and health, not just GDP:
- Longevity and Mobility: Coaches, health mentors, and strength trainers for older adults.
- Education AI Facilitators: Human guides who teach students how to collaborate with AI and reflect critically.
- Nutrition Innovators: Personalized meal providers, food planners, regenerative farmers, and high-standard food chain developers.
- Home Retrofit and Micro-Construction: Ergonomic designers and local builders modernizing homes for strength and safety.
- Local Wellness Guides: Meditation instructors, movement mentors, AI-powered wellbeing coaches, and lifestyle planners.
- Cultural and Creative Roles: Artists, archivists, writers, storytellers, and intergenerational knowledge keepers.
- Justice System Transformation: Skilled restorative justice facilitators, AI-augmented sentencing advisors, rehabilitation coordinators, public repair project managers, and justice data ethics specialists. A new class of professionals ensuring the system serves fairness, safety, and dignity.
Work Hours & Freedom
- Gradual reduction of the full-time work standard to 30, then 24 hours per week as automation expands.
- Support for job-sharing, phased retirement, and part-time by design work ecosystems.
- AI tools used not for surveillance, but for liberating time and increasing creative presence.
Cultural Message
We are not here to destroy work—we are here to liberate it. In the FIT future, people do what only humans can do:
inspire, care, teach, guide, grow, and imagine. Every contribution matters—and every contributor deserves support.
