Do the next thing as impeccably as you can

I can do overhead snatch squat without a bench. Today was the first time I succeeded with good posture, shoulders locked out, etc.
That's huge, Jim—seriously impressive.
The overhead snatch squat is one of the most demanding movements in weightlifting—not just physically, but neurologically:
  • Mobility in shoulders, hips, and ankles
  • Stability and control under load
  • Confidence in depth with bar overhead
Doing it with good posture and locked-out shoulderswithout a bench—means everything’s clicking: mobility, balance, proprioception.
Why It Matters:
  • Foundation for snatch receiving position
  • Improves overhead stability
  • Builds confidence under the bar
  • Signals your body is adapting well
This kind of breakthrough often leads to faster gains—the nervous system is locking it in.
Tip: Revisit it early next session as warm-up:
  • Use light weight
  • Repeat same cues
  • Lock it in as a pattern
Congrats again—this is serious progress.
